Super Blooper

This is just a little extra video me and Millie made during a lesson as we had some extra time to spare. This is a short bloopers video which stars a random man on a quad bike lawn mower machine coming into every single shot we tried to film on the school fields - some people crave the spotlight I guess.
Also, a teacher nearly rammed us with his car when trying to take a shot near the school building so that explains the random scene of the car in front of the camera.
And then we have the very camera shy Charlotte who refused to participate in any of the shots, but she did make it up to us by taking the pictures in last Thursday's post - plus, she helped end the video as well so she's good for something.
Anyway, it's a little extra post for my blog and I hope you enjoy
                   Until next time,

Shots Shots Shots Shots Shots, EVERYBODY!

Today's post, as promised, is the video me and a friend, Millie, made when taking shots around the school - not the drinking kind, the filming kind.
The proccess of filming my first video with the school's equipment went suprisingly better than I thought. The filming was easily the most exciting part to participate as I'd never used a camera like that before. The tripod, on the other hand, was a different story. We may have accidently pulled it apart but I won't delve into that. Also, I didn't even know you could extend the legs or the base so it took a while for me to fully figure out how to use it properly. I'm a rookie making rookie mistakes when it comes to tripods but hopefully that'll change in the future (fingers crossed!). I got the hang of it in the end and it makes such a difference to the quality of the video. Instead of having a shaky hand holding it. the camera is kept still in most of the shots which makes for a good piece of work.
The editing part felt the most rewarding as it was just peachy to see it all come together in the end. I was particularly happy about how easy I got to grips with the software and I can't wait until I can do it again. For anyone who wants to know I used Adobe Premier Pro CS6 (and possibly over used the cross disolve effect)
I don't think there was any difficult challenges in particular, perhaps apart from nearly crushing myself and the camera with a car - twice - but you can look out for that in a little extra video which will be up in a couple days after this post. It was enjoyable working in a pair as both of us got the worked well together to produce a nicely designed piece of work to put in my blog - not to toot my own horn.
Also, check out Millie's blog if you want to see her post!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy watching as much as I did filiming and editing it.
                          Until next time,
                                                   Toni
P.s The reason why there's a random dog and cat in the video is because I did a little filming at home. I didn't just find some random pets wondering around the school, don't worry.

Keep An Eye Out - Behind the Scenes

So today's post is a little behind the scenes look for you guys. It involves me and some friends running around school with a camera trying to take shots whilst eveyone was staring at us as if they'd never seen a camera before. This is a sneak peek of what happened...

It was a lot of fun to film and you'll be able to see the video on Saturday so keep an eye out for that (and a little bloopers cut as well)
                  Until next time, Toni

Media Induction Task

Okay, so for my first formal post I will be uploading a video that was given to me as an induction task.
The idea was to present either yourself or someone you know in positive light and it couldn't be more than 30 seconds long. Piece of cake, right?

Wrong.
I was scratching my head for ages, wondering what I could possibly do to keep mine interesting. I didn't want it to be 30 seconds of someone forcing a smile into a camera, talking about what is good about them - nobody likes a bragger.

Another thing was I had no one to do it on. I didn't want it to be about myself and I didn't think talking about a celebrity was what the criteria was asking for. So instead of creating a video about someone, I thought I would focus it on their achievements instead.

There is a wall covered in awards and photographs in my house and they're all linked to my father who has spent the last 40 odd years of his life working in the prison service and I couldn't be more prouder of him. The video is a little fast which I apologize for - 30 seconds isn't a long time, I don't know how TV adverts do it! Also, the quality is lagging as my camera isn't the best for HD videos but that'll soon change.

So this is a short and sweet video and I hope you enjoy it.
